The Hot Tub earns its name from the thermocline you'll encounter as you descend, where distinct temperature layers create a noticeable shift in the water column. Depths reach 25 metres in the deeper sections, though conditions vary considerably, with current and visibility both running unpredictable on any given day. Seagrass beds draw dugong and loggerhead and green sea turtles, making patient, slow dives more rewarding than rushing the site. Wobbegong and shovel nosed rays favour the bottom, while sea snakes are a regular presence. Watch where you place your hands near the reef as stonefish inhabit the area. Tiger sharks have been recorded here.

Eagle Bluff offers a shallow, calm water experience in Western Australia, making it a comfortable introduction to snorkelling. These seagrass meadows attract dugongs and green sea turtles, so keep your eyes scanning the sandy areas between patches. Bar Flats is a shallow limestone reef off Western Australia, accessible by boat and well-suited to beginner divers. Depths reach a maximum of 15 metres, giving new divers plenty of time to explore without worrying about air consumption. Visibility is variable, so conditions can change between dives. A mild current keeps things manageable. The reef hosts a solid range of marine life, including wobbegong sharks resting on the bottom, loggerhead turtles, southern stingrays, and nudibranchs for those who enjoy looking closely at small creatures. Common lionfish and sweetlip are also present. Be aware that tiger sharks and nurse sharks are part of this environment, so stay calm and observant.

Monkey Mia Jetty offers a genuinely accessible entry point into Shark Bay's underwater world, with shallow depths of 3 to 10 metres and exceptional visibility of 20 to 30 metres that makes it ideal for beginners. The seafloor transitions between reef patches and seagrass beds, where you can spot wobbegong sharks resting on the bottom, octopus tucked into crevices, and nudibranchs moving slowly across sponges. Dugong and turtles pass through the seagrass areas, while batfish and sea snakes are occasional sightings. A mild current keeps conditions manageable. Be cautious around stonefish, which camouflage well on the reef, and stay alert to boat traffic near the jetty structure.

Broadhurst Corals is a boat-access reef site off Western Australia that rewards intermediate divers with a solid mix of macro and pelagic life across depths of 0 to 20 metres. Visibility ranges from 5 to 20 metres depending on conditions, with the site showing its best face in April and October. Plate corals form the structural backbone of the reef, while wobbegong sharks and Australian giant cuttlefish provide slow-moving subjects worth lingering over. Loggerhead turtles, reef sharks, trevally, and emperor fish round out the larger residents. A moderate current runs through the site, so buoyancy control and awareness of your position matter here. Sea snakes are present and best observed from a respectful distance.

Surf Point is a drift dive along a reef system off Western Australia, where moderate currents do most of the work for you. Depths sit between 16 and 18 metres, and visibility is variable, so conditions can shift significantly between dives. The current brings with it plenty of action: trevally work the water column, rays cruise the reef edge, and Queensland grouper hold position in the structure below. Soft corals add colour throughout. Turtles, cuttlefish, sharks, dolphins, and dugongs all make appearances here, and humpback whales pass through during peak season. Boat traffic, surf entry, and the current itself all warrant respect.
