Boone Dam is located at the Boone Reservoir Day Use Area, which opened in 2016. The site features a white sand beach and a designated swim area, providing access to the water. Divers and snorkellers can utilise the boat ramp for entry or enter directly from the shore. The reservoir offers facilities including a fishing pier, walking trails, and picnic areas. Water temperatures at the site fluctuate between 25C and 30C throughout the year. As a reservoir environment, the site is suitable for various water-based activities, though users should be aware of the changing conditions typical of a large inland water body.

Gray Quarry is a purpose-built freshwater dive site featuring a variety of submerged structures, including boats, planes, and fire trucks. The site offers depths ranging from 2 to 21 metres. A continuous aeration system maintains uniform water temperatures throughout the water column, eliminating thermoclines and supporting consistent visibility between 5 and 15 metres. Suitable for beginners, the site provides shore access and is well-equipped with facilities such as air fills, equipment rental, and a dive shop. Divers can expect to encounter typical temperate freshwater fish and aquatic vegetation common to this habitat. The site is also available for night diving, with typical dives lasting around 40 minutes.
