Old Wild Horse Dam Remnants features the partially submerged remains of a 1937 dam located near the modern dam at the north end of the reservoir. This freshwater site offers an artificial reef environment consisting of underwater structures and rocky crevices. Due to geothermal springs feeding the reservoir, water temperatures are high, ranging between 37°C and 57.8°C. The site is suitable for advanced divers due to the overhead environment presented by the dam remnants. Access is available via both shore and boat. Facilities provided at the site include parking, toilets, showers, and changing rooms. Snorkelling is possible, though rated 2/5.

North Wildhorse Campground is a freshwater snorkeling site located at the northern end of Wild Horse Reservoir. The topography features a rocky shore entry, and the site reaches depths of up to 21 metres, with an average depth of 12 metres. Conditions are characterised by consistently cold water temperatures, typically ranging from 1.7°C to 5°C in April, necessitating the use of a wetsuit. The site experiences mild currents and requires caution due to boat traffic and the presence of shore anglers. Snorkelers are advised to remain close to the bank. Facilities available at the campground include parking, toilets, and showers.
