Navarre Beach Marine Sanctuary is an artificial reef located 104 metres offshore from Pensacola. The site consists of 78 structures arranged in rows, marked on the shore by four large PVC posts. Divers and snorkellers can access the reef from the shore by swimming past the second sandbar. Depths range from 2 to 5 metres, with an average of 3 metres. Conditions include mild currents and visibility between 2 and 12 metres. Marine life observed here includes Atlantic spadefish, honeycomb cowfish, whiptail stingray, Atlantic tarpon, grey triggerfish, sand perch, and various crabs. Hazards include boat traffic, jellyfish, lionfish, rip currents, sea urchins, sharks, strong currents, and surf.
