The site is primarily a dive location, but the top of the bank reaches a depth of 12 metres, providing an opportunity for snorkelling. Due to its offshore position, this site is suitable only for advanced snorkellers who are comfortable with deep water and currents. Access to the site is by boat. Water temperatures at Leven Bank range from 26C to 29C throughout the year, with the warmest conditions occurring in February, March, April, and December.
