Flat Rock is a freshwater reef site located near the SUNY Oswego campus in Lake Ontario. The site is defined by unique underwater limestone shelf formations that create crevices throughout the area. Accessible via a shore entry, this location is suitable for beginners. Divers and snorkellers should be prepared for cold water temperatures, which range from 3°C to 23°C throughout the year. The site features shallow water and mild currents. Facilities available at the site include parking, showers, toilets, changing rooms, and a rinse station. The habitat supports various temperate freshwater fish and invertebrates typical of the region.

The David W. Mills Submerged Cultural Preserve is a 202-foot wooden steamer wreck located on Ford Shoals. As New York's first submerged cultural preserve, the site features a broken-up hull that allows divers to observe massive engine components and exposed hull ribs. The wreck lies in depths ranging from 4 to 8 metres, making it suitable for intermediate divers. Access to the site is by boat only, as it is situated 7200 metres from the shore. Visibility at the site varies significantly, ranging from 6 to 30 metres depending on conditions. Water temperatures fluctuate throughout the year, reaching a high of 22C in August and a low of 3C in March.

The Frontenac is a shore-accessible wreck located 50 metres from the shore within the Wolfe Island Graveyard. This freshwater site features depths ranging from 5 to 110 metres, with the upper sections suitable for beginner divers. The water is generally calm with no current, allowing for a relaxed exploration of the hull and fittings. Visibility typically ranges between 5 and 10 metres. Water temperatures fluctuate significantly throughout the year, from 2 to 23 degrees Celsius. Divers should be prepared for cold water conditions and potential entanglement hazards. Thermal protection, such as a drysuit or thick wetsuit with hood and gloves, is recommended outside of the summer months.
