Water temperatures fluctuate throughout the year, reaching a high of 22C in August and a low of 3C in March.

Conditions vary, with visibility between 3 and 15 metres and strong currents present. A significant thermocline exists, causing water temperatures to drop sharply below the surface. Due to the potential for strong currents, rip currents, and cold water, this site is best suited for those prepared for challenging freshwater conditions.
