Nkhata Bay sits on the northern shore of Lake Malawi and offers freshwater diving directly from the shore, which sets it apart from most lake destinations that require boat access. Two sites are in the database: Playground Point, a shallow reef suited to beginners, and a broader site mixing reef structures with cavern systems reaching down to thirty metres. Visibility fluctuates between ten and thirty metres depending on conditions. One operator, Aqua Africa, runs diving here. Peak visibility typically falls between September and November.
