The area supports a variety of reef fish and invertebrates. Hazards include jellyfish, sharp coral, and the potential for strong currents. A cafe is available for visitors.

Ilha do Xavier is an oceanic island featuring a mix of natural rocky reefs and artificial reef structures. Located 3704 metres from the shore, the site offers depths ranging from 1 to 18 metres, with an average depth of 12 metres. Divers and snorkellers should expect moderate currents and visibility between 5 and 10 metres. Access to the site requires a boat. The southern side of the island includes a protected area known as the salon, which provides a sheltered environment for underwater activities. Due to the presence of moderate currents and potential hazards including sharks, this site is recommended for intermediate divers.
