Due to the depth and cold conditions, this site is best suited for experienced divers. Guided tours are available and recommended for initial visits to assist with navigation.

The Baptism River Mouth on the North Shore of Lake Superior offers a dynamic freshwater snorkeling environment where river and lake waters converge. The site is characterised by large submerged boulders and a rocky reef topography. Snorkelers should be prepared for moderate currents and variable water clarity, which is influenced by river runoff and recent rainfall. Access is via the shore, and the site is best suited for intermediate snorkelers due to the presence of surf, strong currents, and cold water temperatures. Facilities at the location include parking and toilets. Given the water temperatures, which range from 1C to 16C, appropriate thermal protection is essential to mitigate the risk of hypothermia.

Meyers Beach Sea Caves on the North Shore of Lake Superior offer a unique freshwater snorkeling experience within a series of shallow caves. Located 1600 metres from the shore, the site is accessible by both boat and shore entry. Conditions vary, with moderate currents and potential for low visibility. Due to the overhead environment of the caves and the cold water temperatures, which range from 1C to 18C, this site is suited for intermediate snorkelers. Hypothermia is a significant risk in these waters, and snorkelers should remain aware of boat traffic in the area. Parking and toilets are available at the site.

Sugarloaf Cove on the North Shore of Lake Superior features a protected nature preserve with a rare tombolo and a cobblestone beach. The site is defined by 1.1 billion-year-old lava flows that form a reef structure within the cove. This relatively shallow area is sheltered from the main lake winds, offering a calmer environment for divers and snorkellers. Entry is via a short walk from the interpretive centre. Water temperatures are cold, ranging from 1°C to 16°C throughout the year, with the warmest conditions typically occurring in late August. Facilities at the site include parking, toilets, and a rinse station.
