Transylvania's dive sites are freshwater lakes ranging from the shallow volcanic crater of Szent Anna Lake to the deep drowned reservoir of Belis, which descends beyond recreational limits. Sites suit beginners through to intermediate divers, with shore and boat entry available depending on the lake. Visibility is typically around five metres, and the water is cold year-round, so a drysuit or well-rated wetsuit is advisable. Divers can expect submerged structures, drowned reservoir landscapes, and freshwater species including trout, pike perch, carp, and perch.
