San Martín de los Andes sits beside Lake Lácar within the Lanín National Park area of the Patagonian Andes, and its two dive sites, Isla Lepen and Lago Lácar Nonthué, are freshwater reef dives in cold, clear water. Visibility at Isla Lepen can reach thirty metres, and the reef descends to depths suitable for beginners, though currents at the site can strengthen and require attention. Lago Lácar Nonthué offers a shallower reef accessible from shore, also with high visibility. Brown trout, rainbow trout, carp, and freshwater crab are among the species found here. Two operators run trips from the broader Neuquén area.
