Chesterfield Inlet Community Dock serves as the primary entry point where freshwater from the inlet meets the saltwater of Hudson Bay. This site features a mix of reef and artificial reef structures. Diving here is restricted to advanced divers due to strong currents, low visibility ranging from 2 to 5 metres, and extremely cold water temperatures between -2C and 7C. Depths are shallow, averaging 3 metres with a range of 1 to 5 metres. Divers must use specialized cold-water gear to mitigate risks of hypothermia and frostbite. Hazards include boat traffic and limited visibility. Shore access is available with parking and guided tours provided.

Fox Trap Island (Igluligaarjuk South) is a marine site located 5km from the hamlet of Chesterfield Inlet. This location features a combination of natural reef and artificial reef structures, providing a habitat for various benthic invertebrates. The rocky shoreline serves as a haul-out area for seals. Divers should be prepared for extremely cold water temperatures ranging from -2C to 7C, which necessitate specialized cold-water equipment. The site is subject to strong currents and is intended for advanced divers only. Snorkelling is possible at this location, though the challenging conditions require careful planning. Marine life in this region includes various temperate marine fish and invertebrates.
