Arviat Shoreline, known locally as Tikirajualaaq, offers a shore-entry snorkelling experience near the Whale's Tail monument. This site is suited for intermediate snorkellers due to challenging conditions, including cold water temperatures, low visibility caused by silt, and the presence of surf and rip currents. Depths are shallow, ranging from 1 to 5 metres with an average of 3 metres. Water temperatures remain very cold throughout the year, peaking at approximately 7°C in late summer and dropping to -2°C during winter months. Given the environmental hazards and extreme temperatures, this site requires careful planning and appropriate thermal protection for all water activities.

Kuugaarjuk Migratory Bird Sanctuary is a unique mixing zone where the freshwater of the McConnell River meets the salt water of Hudson Bay. This site is suitable for advanced snorkelers who are prepared for challenging conditions. Water temperatures are cold, ranging from -2C in winter to 8C in August. Access is available via both shore and boat. Due to the nature of the environment, snorkelers should be aware of potential hazards including cold water, strong currents, and boat traffic. The area is known for its nutrient-rich waters where the river and bay converge.
