Stevens Gap Swim Beach is a popular freshwater swimming area on Broken Bow Lake, featuring a gently sloping shoreline that provides easy shore access for snorkelers. The site is suitable for beginners, with visibility ranging from 3 to 25 metres. While the lake reaches depths of up to 185 metres, the average depth is 62 metres. Snorkelers can explore the shallows to observe various temperate freshwater fish and aquatic vegetation typical of the region. Spillway Cliffs at Broken Bow Lake offers a distinct freshwater wall and drop-off experience. Conditions vary, with visibility ranging from 7 to 20 metres. A thermocline is present, where surface temperatures in summer reach 30°C, dropping to approximately 8°C at depths of 30 metres and beyond. Due to the significant depth and potential for entanglement, this site is suited for advanced divers. Access is available via shore or boat, and the site is also suitable for snorkelling.
