Salmon Creek Mouth is located approximately 3.5 kilometres west of Pond Inlet, where the river flows into Eclipse Sound. This site is accessed from the shore and requires snorkellers to travel 3500 metres from the entry point. Conditions are characterised by very cold Arctic waters, with temperatures ranging from -2C to 4C throughout the year. Due to the challenging environment, including low visibility and extreme cold, this site is rated for intermediate snorkellers. The topography is defined by the river mouth meeting the sound, providing a unique setting for observing the local environment during the summer melt.

Tamaarvik Territorial Park Shoreline offers a convenient shore-entry point located a short walk from the hamlet of Pond Inlet. This site features a kelp forest environment within the shallows, providing a controlled area for snorkellers to observe the underwater topography. The water temperatures in these Arctic conditions range from -2C to 4C throughout the year, requiring appropriate thermal protection. The site is suitable for beginners looking to practice in a relatively safe, accessible location. Toilets are available for visitor use near the park area. Due to the extreme environment, cold water remains the primary hazard for all participants.
