Setting Lake, located approximately 50 kilometres south of Thompson, is a freshwater site featuring rocky drop-offs. The lake is noted for its water clarity, which allows for visibility into the water column, contrasting with the silty nature of nearby rivers. Access to the water is via the shore, and the site includes parking facilities. Snorkelling here is considered an intermediate activity due to the environment. The water is extremely cold, and the risk of hypothermia is high. Proper preparation and thermal protection are essential for all visitors, as prolonged exposure to these temperatures is hazardous to health. Currents at the site are generally mild.
