La Calera's diving centres on Laguna Azul, a lagoon formed inside an old limestone quarry in Córdoba province. The mineral content of the quarry gives the water its characteristic blue colour. Depths range from two metres down to fourteen metres, and visibility typically falls between five and ten metres. Currents are mild, and the site is suited to beginner training and introductory dives. Shore entry is straightforward, and on-site facilities support day visits. Tilapia, catfish, and livebearers are the species recorded here.
