The Howard is a freshwater shipwreck located 1000 metres offshore near Victoria Island. This advanced dive site features wreckage resting at depths between 15 and 53 metres, with an average depth of 24 metres. A heritage marker buoy is positioned atop the site to assist with location. Divers should expect moderate currents and visibility ranging from 3 to 12 metres. Water temperatures fluctuate between 1 and 16 degrees Celsius, with significant drops below the thermocline necessitating the use of drysuits. Due to the depth and potential for entanglement, this site is suited for experienced divers. Access is possible via boat, which is required for this location.
